Hello to everyone,
My name is Brett Bashaw and I am a missionary worker. The name of my missions organization is Alternative Missions. I am also a member of an awesome church in the University district of Seattle called Jubilee Evangelical church. I am blessed to be part of such a warm, friendly, and radical church. I am also blessed to be a worker for Alternative Missions, the people in Alternative Missions are very encouraging and so loving. I guess, overall, I am a pretty blessed guy!
I am leaving leaving for Tepic, Mexico next month (March). Lately, I have been through some medical scares and some incredible medical bills came way too, but God has been so faithful and He has made a way for me to still go! I was supposed to leave on January 8th. I am just so happy that I get to go and be a worker for Jesus in the city I know He has called me to.
I love food of all types, music, travel, Starbucks, laughing, reading, long walks etc.
Part of my ministry in Tepic will be geared towards “at-risk youth”, and also youth that are in prison. I want to be an inspiration and an example of Jesus’s love to the youth that have fallen through the cracks. Overall, we are planning on doing many acts of charity within the city of Tepic.
Part of my ministry will also revolve around the arts. My missionary friends in Tepic have started a music group called “Into The Sea”, because, well, we love music, but also, we believe that God is all about the arts and creativity. We believe, and have seen, how youth are drawn to music events and “scenes”. Kids that want nothing to do with religion etc. have been joining us in the various charitable events we have carried out in the city. We, basically, meet these kids where they are at and show them by example, and through the Bible, who Jesus is.
I just want to show the world that Jesus loves ALL of us! I want to be a part of the solution. I want to help alleviate suffering and meet the basic needs of disadvantaged people.
